The following pictures are a color study taken from the the SC183/Pete Hollis Blvd. bridge in downtown Greenville, SC, also known as the bridge above “Tent City.” While taking pictures of the surrounding area, this weathered and graffitied tower became a focal point when a thunderstorm started to roll in from the northwest. The changing light and textures of the clouds provided plenty of variety for contrasting backgrounds in a short time frame, but also made for a challenging shoot. One of the more notable shots that caught my interest was of a vertical shot of the water tower beyond a brick wall that created layered horizontal lines of color from the dark and light grey clouds, green grass, and red brick.
