CubsHQ.com offers a tremendous amount of free content and up to date statuses for all things related to Chicago Cubs baseball. The same fine folks behind TigerNet.com are also the sports gurus behind CubsHQ.com, so they have plenty of experience covering sports related content to a loyal and rabid fan base. To help identity their website, they asked me to develop a logo that would extend into their own identity of “Cubs” sports branding without infringing on the Chicago Cubs copyrighted logo and branding. The logo began with a study of a bear cub facial features and then developed into what they are currently using today. There was a real challenge illustrating a youthful facial feature, as the subject was an adulterant bear, but still depict the attitude as fierce and sporty.
